Trinity and Beyond

"Trinity and Beyond" is a documentary film by Peter Kuran and Visual Concept Entertainment about the atomic bomb and it's development through the last 50 years. Narrated by William Shatner, this film features astounding footage including some recently declassified images unseen by the public as well as a wonderful musical score performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Chorus composed by William Stromberg, John Morgan, and myself.

When I first saw the footage of the scenes for which I would be composing music, I was awestruck by the the immense power of the atom, the unfathomable destruction, and the eerie beauty of these images as I witnessed them on film. They spoke to me on an emotional level with such enormous clarity, I found it easy to translate these feelings of mine onto the music paper.

To write for a group this large was much more of a joy than a difficulty. You get used to the size of the group you are composing and orchestrating for, and it becomes a exceptionally freeing experience when you realize that because your palette of orchestral color is so huge, you can write just about anything your heart desires.
