Developer diary1 (8MB)
This .wmv movie features the Liquid Entertainment developers talking about Dragonshard (with lots of music examples).

Dragonshard_Main_Titles.mp3 (6604K) Main Titles (2:49)
This is a medley of my Dragonshard, Umbragen, Alliance, and Lizardfolk themes.

Dragonshard_Ancient_City.mp3 (5234K) Ancient Elven City (2:13)
A beautiful performance featuring the Armenian Duduk.

Dragonshard_Liz8b_Live.mp3 (4858K) Lizardfolk 8b Live Session (2:04)
My buddy William Stromberg wrote this piece. I've listed several examples here of the live session only tracks just for fun. Compare them to the final mixes. Also, keep in mind that there are gaps of silence in these tracks where the players are resting, noise from keys clacking, and player comments, giggles, etc.

Dragonshard_Liz8b_Mix.mp3 (4824K) Lizardfolk 8b Mix (2:03)
Here's the final mix with the added Gigastudio strings and percussion.

Dragonshard_Flm3b_Live.mp3 (5016K) Alliance 3b Live Session (2:08)
Another example of the live session only.

Dragonshard_Flm3b_Mix.mp3 (4864K) Alliance 3b Mix (2:04)
This is one of my favorite versions of the Alliance theme. I really like the way the middle section worked playing the tonic melody against the dominant harmony. It adds a lot of drama to the build of the piece.

Dragonshard_Umb3b_Live.mp3 (4954K) Umbragen 3b Live Session (2:06)
Another live session excerpt.

Dragonshard_Umb3b_Mix.mp3 (4804K) Umbragen 3b Mix (2:02)
This is one of the more exciting Umbragen battle cues. I kind of let loose. It's also a great example of collaboration as the opening Horn riff was from a bar of music in one of William Stromberg's battle cues and it inspired me to develop the idea further and this is what I ended up with.

War of the Ring

Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring

This score was created with my extensive Gigastudio library of orchestral sounds, enhanced with some amazing live musicians, and recorded here in Los Angeles.

Anorien_good_battle.mp3 (2074K) Anorien_good_battle (2:12)
Featuring Eric Rigler on Uilleann Pipes and various whistles.

WOTR_Generic3_build.mp3 (2020K) WOTR_Generic3_build (2:09)
Big sweeping melodic statement.

WOTR_Generic3_battle.mp3 (2082K) WOTR_Generic3_battle (2:13)
A variation of the above piece, for battle moments during gameplay.

Osgiliath_good_build.mp3 (1944K) Osgiliath_good_build (2:04)
Sad and noble statement for the men of Gondor.

Osgiliath_good_battle.mp3 (2012K) Osgiliath_good_battle (2:08)
A more heroic variation of the above piece, for battle moments during gameplay.

Plague of Darkness

Plague of Darkness

Here's one of my latest projects for Wide Screen Game/Namco, recorded with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Choir

AMB5.mp3 (1295K) Stress Ambience 5 (1:22)
Don't forget to wear fresh underwear before listening.

AMB4.mp3 (1007K) Discovery Ambience 4 (1:04)
Big, epic, stately.

PoD_INTRO.mp3 (1614K) Intro Cinematic (1:43)
Gradual buildup on a demonic incantation sequence.

Firestarter

Firestarter Rekindled

Here are some additional music I've created for a mini-series, Firestarter Rekindled, where Randy Miller was the principal composer.

Firestarter_4M2.mp3 (601K) Firestarter_4M2 (0:43)
Creepy.

Firestarter_4M4.mp3 (3242K) Firestarter_4M4 (3:57)
This was written for a strangulation scene.

Firestarter_5M1.mp3 (2707K) Firestarter_5M1 (3:17)
More creepy stuff, but with a funky groove running in the background.

PL_School_of_Children_30.mp3 (455K) Pacific Life "School of Children" (0:30)

    Demos

Here are demos I've created to beta-test out new products like Spectrasonics Atmosphere and Stylus, in addition to music I've written for various projects that, for some reason or another, were not used. You be the judge.

    LM_Atmosphere_demo1.mp3 (1637K) Atmosphere demo 1 (1:59)
I messed around with a 4ths idea, think fuzzy (7 Atmosphere/2 Stylus instruments).

    LM_Waking_Andy_Kaufman.mp3 (1551K) Waking Andy Kaufman (1:53)
A Weather Report style piece I wrote using 6 Atmosphere/9 Stylus. Nick Manson's on the nasty lead synth solo (also an Atmosphere sound). This sounded like I was waking someone from their grave, and along with all the Conga stuff which reminded Nick of Andy Kaufman, we got a title.

    LM_Stylus_demo1.mp3 (3398K) Stylus demo 1 (4:08)
Nick Manson's on the Wurlitzer. I couldn't decide on a style, so I think it ended up being Weather Report induced Euro-funk (14 Stylus instruments, Scarbee Slap Bass, Bass Legends MM Fretless, Wurtlizer EP, Audity 2000).

    atarijag.mp3 (180K) Atari "Jaguar" (0:15)
This didn't make it to final with the Ad clients, but I loved the experiment of splitting guitarist Kenny Lasaine into 8 separate tracks that all were part of one central idea. A little schizophrenic but fun.
